Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the WisdomOne Android application (“App”), published by Dipankar Dandapat (“we”, “us”, or “our”). By installing or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please stop using the App.

1. Purpose of WisdomOne

WisdomOne provides access to scripture-inspired and wisdom-oriented content, daily verses, explanations, reflection prompts, journaling tools, saved content and related features. The App is intended for personal, informational and reflective use.

2. Not professional advice

Content in WisdomOne, including scripture explanations, AI-assisted explanations and reflection prompts, is provided for general educational, informational and personal reflection purposes. It is not medical, mental-health, legal, financial or other professional advice. Interpretations may differ across traditions, translations and schools of thought. For authoritative religious guidance, consult a qualified and trusted source within the relevant tradition.

3. Respectful use

You agree to use the App lawfully and respectfully. You must not misuse the App, attempt to disrupt its operation, interfere with its security, reverse engineer or exploit its services except where applicable law permits, or use it to upload or distribute unlawful, abusive, deceptive or infringing material.

4. Accounts and device data

Some features may work through an anonymous device-linked account, while optional account registration may be offered. You are responsible for keeping any sign-in credentials secure. The App may store preferences, saved verses and other feature data as described in the Privacy Policy. You should keep your device and app data secure.

5. Content, translations and accuracy

We aim to present content thoughtfully, but we do not warrant that every verse, translation, attribution, explanation or generated response is complete, error-free or accepted by every community or interpreter. Please verify important quotations and references with trusted source editions. Some content may be provided under third-party licenses or public-domain sources; applicable attribution and license notices must be respected.

6. AI-assisted features

Where AI-assisted explanations or related features are available, their outputs may be incomplete, simplified or inaccurate. They are not a substitute for original scripture, scholarly interpretation or personal discernment. Do not rely on generated content for high-stakes decisions.

7. User reflections and submissions

You retain responsibility for the text and other material you choose to enter into Journal, Reflection, feedback or other features. Do not submit sensitive information you do not want processed or stored. You must have the rights necessary to submit any material you provide. Data handling and deletion choices are described in the Privacy Policy.

8. Intellectual property

The WisdomOne name, logo, app design, original artwork, software and original written materials are owned by or licensed to us and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. You may use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not copy, redistribute, sell or commercially exploit our proprietary materials without prior written permission, except where permitted by law or an applicable license. Third-party scripture text and artwork remain subject to their respective rights and licenses.

9. Sharing and third-party services

The App may let you share verses or use services provided by third parties, including Google Play and Firebase. Your use of those services is subject to their own terms and privacy policies. Once you share content through another app or service, that recipient's handling of it is outside our control.

10. Availability and changes

We may add, modify, suspend or discontinue features, content or parts of the App to maintain, improve or protect the service. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, compatibility with every device or permanent availability of any particular content.

11. Disclaimer of warranties

To the extent permitted by applicable law, the App is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, availability and non-infringement.

12. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, we will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, loss of data, loss of goodwill or losses arising from your use of or inability to use the App. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited.

13. Suspension or termination

We may restrict or terminate access where reasonably necessary to protect the App, users, our systems or to comply with law. You may stop using the App and uninstall it at any time. Uninstalling the App may not delete server-side data; refer to the Privacy Policy for data deletion instructions.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will revise the effective date when changes are made. Where required, we will provide notice through the App or its store listing. Continued use after updated Terms take effect indicates acceptance of the revised Terms.

15. Governing law

These Terms are subject to the laws of India, without prejudice to mandatory consumer-protection rights that apply in your place of residence. Courts with competent jurisdiction in India will have jurisdiction, subject to applicable law.
